Homemade Crushed Red Peppers

Dry extra peppers from the garden and make a delicious spice that lasts all year!

Ingredients

  • 20-100 hot peppers cayenne, jalapeno, serrano, habenero

Instructions

  • Gather fresh chili peppers from the garden.
  • Dry the peppers. You can do this a few ways. Use a dehydrator or string them up and let them dry naturally. See the tips above for more infor on how to dry them.
  • After the peppers are dry break off the stems, discard stems, and add the peppers to a blender or food processor.
  • Pulse the peppers until they are the size and texture you like.
  • Add to a clean jar and store in a cool, dry place.
