- 1 1/2-2 pounds fresh green beans ends trimmed and cut in half
- 2 cloves garlic smashed from skin
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- pepper to taste
Fill a large skillet halfway with water, bring to a boil. Add the salt and the green beans. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Drain the water from the beans and return them to the pan over medium heat. Add the butter, garlic, and pepper. Saute this for long enough to melt the butter and coat all the beans, just a minute or two. You can cook them a few minutes longer if you want the beans to get a little brown. I make them both ways, just depends what kind of mood I am in. Season with additional salt to taste and enjoy!
