Heirloom Caprese Salad

Ingredients

  • 4 large tomatoes Use any heirloom or fresh garden tomato
  • 1 pound fresh mozzarella cheese
  • few sprigs fresh basil
  • olive oil
  • balsamic vinegar
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  • Slice tomatoes and cheese into slices around the same thickness. Shingle slices of the tomatoes and cheese on a platter alternating every other one. Break of leaves of the basil and tuck them in between some of the tomatoes and cheese.
  • Drizzle with a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Season with salt and fresh cracked pepper.
