Not only is this smoothie high in protein and low in added sugar but it’s full of nutritious ingredients such as ginger, chia seeds, and cottage cheese.

This smoothie is best during summer when the southern peaches are at the peak of their season. If you make this in the middle of winter you might need to add another date or a little honey to sweeten it up a bit.

Peach Ginger Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 peach pitted and cut
  • 1 1/2 inch fresh ginger trimmed and cut*
  • 1 Tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/3 cup cottage cheese I use a whole milk variety,
  • 1 date chopped and pitted*
  • 2/3 cup milk traditional, almond, oat whatever you like
  • 1/2 cup ice about 4 cubes

Instructions

  • Add 1 peach, 1 1/2 inch fresh ginger, 1 Tablespoon chia seeds, 1/3 cup cottage cheese, 1 date, 2/3 cup milk, 1/2 cup ice to a blender and blend well until everything is smooth and creamy. Pour into your favorite glass and enjoy!

Notes

I use a knife to trim the skin off the ginger, you can buy dates that are already pitted. I use these.
